What is The Society?

We are a Montreal based high end rental and retail company, where you have the option to rent or purchase authentic designer handbags, sunglasses and accessories at discounted prices. There are no subscriptions required.

What is the process of renting with The Society?

After browsing our website or Instagram page, book an appointment using our online booking system.

Come to The Society showroom to pick up your product(s) of choice and view our curated collection of luxury items!

You must provide two pieces of ID which match the credit card that you will be paying with. Full name, email address, home address and proof of address as well as a valid phone number are required.

Clients have the choice to have their credit card saved on file, or be charged the retail value of the product(s) that you are renting. You will only be required to pay the rental price of the product. The charge will be refunded upon return of the product.

You will be required to sign The Society’s Terms & Conditions.

At the end of your rental period, simply drop off your product(s) at The Society showroom!

Do you charge tax?

At this time, The Society does not charge any taxes.

With luxury brands increasing their prices annually, and trends constantly evolving, renting allows you to embrace your desired style without the heavy price tag.

By renting, you can consume and spend less while having access to a variety of luxury pieces.

Celebrities regularly borrow pieces from high end designers, why shouldn’t you?

Can I try on a product before renting or buying?

Yes, of course! Book an appointment and come and try on as many pieces as you’d like at The Society showroom located in the heart of Montreal.

How long can I rent for?

Standard rental period is 7 days.

Pick up and drop off are at The Society showroom. 1411 Dollard Ave, LaSalle, QC, H8N 1T3 (Inside of Salon De Bronzage Suntan).

DM us or email customerservice@societymontreal.com if you require a rental period longer than 7 days.

What if I return my product late?

The Society charges a late fee of $25 per day, per product.

What if I damage my product?

While we ask that you handle all products with love, we understand that small wear and tear issues can occur and fortunately can be fixed. (See Terms & Conditions for wear and tear coverage included in rental price.)

If the product is lost during your rental period, you will be charged the full retail value of the product(s).

If the product(s) are returned stained or damaged beyond repair, The Society reserves the right to determine what damages qualify as unrepairable. The Society will charge you depending on the damage at our discretion.

Can I purchase Accidental Damage Protection?

Yes, all clients have the option to add on ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) which costs $10 per day.

The Society reserves the right to determine whether damages are covered by our rental insurance.

Can I stop by The Society showroom at any time?

We ask that you please book an appointment before visiting The Society showroom.

Monday to Friday 9:30am - 8:00pm

Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Sunday 10:00am - 4:00pm

Do you guarantee authenticity?

We guarantee authenticity of all our items and offer a very easy and simple return policy for any item that is deemed non authentic with proof from a reputable authenticator. Our promise to our clients is to stop the circulation of fakes and our clients never have to worry about being stuck with a fake bag or accessory.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards as well as email interact E-Transfers.

Do you accept Afterpay?

Yes, clients can spread payments over interest-free installments. Available for in-person sales.
